Timidity and mediocrity are cousins that are to be avoided at all costs and replaced by courage and boldness who are brothers that point the way to a better future along the road marked 'change'.
The power to change in not inherent but is motivated by an external influence that helps one review the norm as 'non productive ' and allows one the courage to address and challenge mediocrity in a manner that brings about the very change once considered unnecessary.
All business requires 'change' it…

A magician worked on a cruise ship.
The audience was different each week so the magician did the same tricks over and over again.
There was only one problem: The captain's parrot saw the shows each week and began to understand how the magician did every trick.
Once he understood, he started shouting in the middle of the show, "Look, It's not the same hat!" or, "Look, he's hiding the flowers under the table!" or "Hey, why are all the cards the ace of spades?"
The magician was furious but coul…

WHAT TO DO WHEN . . . . STAFF ARE NEGLIGENT IN THE PERFORMANCE OF THEIR DUTIES
PART 1

Let’s go back to our protagonists – Mike (the employer) and George (the employee) and see what they are up to this week.

WHAT TO DO WHEN . . . . STAFF GO AWOL!
PART 2
By Nikki Viljoen – N Viljoen Consulting CC - March 2008.
So here we are back with the dilemma that Mike finds himself in. A staff member who is AWOL, that cannot be contacted – too much work for one person, and the possibility of falling foul of the law if he just dismisses said employee and hires another one! Mike is pretty much between a rock and a hard place.
So here is what not to do:
• Don’t immediately take the employer off the b…

A while back the buzz phrase about a marketing strategy plan was that if you set the biggest, best mouse “Trap” the largest share of the market was yours for the taking.
Rather cheesy … I always thought, while having an internal giggle!!! You see, I’ve never been particularly fond of mice, nor felt the need to “Trap” anyone.
Instead I prefer to have my “Cheese (cake)” and eat it!!!
Now you may be feeling confused and wondering whether this is about a marketing plan or a baking recipe? It’s ac…

Symbolically Speaking, I know the market is “Pink”. Literally I sit here using my LG X100 “Pink” Netbook. It’s compact weighs less than one kg and easily fits into my handbag.
Is the market “Fluffy”? Well it depends on who you ask. To some (men) it may be cloudy or confusing. Whereas, men think with grey matter, women really know what does matter!
When developing a marketing strategy plan, you need to know and understand your market. The pink market that I always call “W2W” – woman to woman is…
